Techniques used

Dr Hunt uses a number of thigh surgery techniques, depending on the areas of concern:

  • Inner (medial) thigh lift: The inside of the thighs are very difficult to shape through exercise. An inner thigh lift involves an incision along the junction between the thigh and pubic area to remove loose skin and any excess fat.
  • Outer (lateral) thigh lift: This procedure tightens the skin on the front and outside of the thigh.
  • Inner (medial) thigh lift with liposuction: This procedure tightens the skin at the top of the inner thigh, with the effects extending further down the inner thigh than a thigh lift alone.

Benefits of Thigh Lift Surgery

Thigh lift surgery is performed to correct the excess skin and other imperfections at the level of the thighs. This complex procedure can deliver great results when performed by an experienced plastic surgeon. There are some benefits associated with undergoing this procedure such as:

  • A better contoured body
  • Firmer looking legs
  • Getting rid of the excess of skin

Thigh LIft FAQs

Should I have a Thigh LIft?

If weight loss has left you with excess skin around the thigh area that no amount of exercise will shift, you are a good candidate for thigh lift surgery.

What's involved in a Thighplasty?

Dr Hunt will perform your thighplasty under a general anaesthetic in the hospital of your choice.

He will make an incision around the top of your thigh (near your groin), before pulling the excess skin upwards, stitching it into its new position and trimming the excess. Dr Hunt will do his very best to ensure that your scar will be hidden by your swimwear or underwear.

When can I go home after surgery?

You will stay in hospital for around three nights after your surgery. You’ll be able to go home once you are comfortable and able to get to and from a bathroom.

Once you get home, you should limit your movements to around the house for two to three days.

Will I have to return for post-operative care?

You’ll see Dr Hunt during the first week after your surgery, and several more times over the following weeks and months.

How long will I be off work?

You should plan on taking at least 3 weeks off work.

When can I resume my normal activities?

You will be able to resume all activities, including exercise, around six weeks after your thigh lift surgery.

However you must not do any activities that increase your heart rate above 100 beats per minute for the first three weeks.

When will I see the end result?

The effect of your thigh lift will be immediate, and once you remove the compression garment you’l be able to see your new shape. However, the final effect may not be apparent for a few months.
